Cans for canines

It happens millions of times each week someone dumps a dog off somewhere to fend for themselves…

Animals and humans alike have to eat daily. This presents a high cost for the animal shelters. One way you can help is by donating some canned animal food. You can get a can of animal food for around a $1! This is a great way to teach your little ones about volunteering and making your community a better place.

One girl in my community is doing just that. Bella has decided to start a can drive for canines.

One day when Bella and her mom were driving and saw a dog on the side of the road. Bella asked her mom if they could keep it and Bella’s mother replied “baby we cant afford to feed another dog”. Bella as┬ápersistent as she is said “why dont we use the money from the cans we recycle to pay for the food?”. This is how her idea for the all began.

Bella’s love for animals provoked her idea to use the money they received from recycled cans to feed animals rather than buying toys.

Since then Bella has begun to save every can she is able to find. She plans to save as much as possible so she can donate to the SPCA in Waxahachie to help feed all the stray animals. If you wish to help some canine friends please visit
